1. Seven-day cooling-off period for electronic purchases
Where the cooling-off right in section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act applies, you may cancel an electronic purchase of goods without penalty within seven days after receiving the goods. You may be responsible only for the direct cost of returning the goods. Any refund due under that section will be processed within the legally required period.
For a change-of-mind return, please keep the book or product unused, complete and in a condition suitable for resale. Reasonable handling needed to inspect the item will not automatically remove a statutory right.
2. Defective, unsafe or poor-quality goods
South African consumers have statutory remedies where goods fail to meet the quality standards in the Consumer Protection Act. During the applicable six-month period, qualifying goods may be returned without penalty and at the supplier’s risk, with the consumer entitled to the remedy provided by law, including a refund, replacement or repair where appropriate.
For books and printed products, the practical remedy will normally be a replacement or refund because repair is often not suitable.
3. Incorrect or damaged items
If we supplied the wrong product or it arrived damaged, please contact us promptly and provide:
- Your name and order reference.
- Clear photographs of the product and packaging.
- A short description of the problem.
Where the problem is confirmed, we will arrange the lawful remedy and will not require you to carry costs that the law places on the supplier.
4. Items that cannot be returned merely because you changed your mind
A change-of-mind return may be limited where legislation permits an exclusion—for example, a future product made to a customer’s specifications or clearly personalised. This does not remove rights relating to defective, unsafe, misdescribed or incorrectly supplied goods.
5. How to request a return
- WhatsApp 082 568 9778 before sending or bringing the item back.
- Provide the order details and reason for return.
- Wait for the return address, collection arrangement or practice-return instructions.
- Package courier returns securely and retain proof of dispatch.
6. Refunds
Approved refunds will normally be made through the original payment method where possible. Processing time may depend on the bank or payment provider. We may inspect a change-of-mind return before finalising the refund, but inspection will not be used to defeat a statutory consumer right.
7. Your statutory rights remain protected
This policy is intended to explain our process, not to waive or restrict any non-excludable rights under South African law.
